Step into a local home in Osaka for a unique Japanese cooking experience. With a maximum of four guests per session, enjoy a friendly and personal atmosphere, allowing plenty of opportunities to interact with your host throughout the experience. You can choose from two different cooking courses. The first focuses on popular Japanese home-style dishes that local families enjoy every day, including karaage (Japanese fried chicken), gyoza, dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet), and onigiri (rice balls). The second course features Osaka's famous soul foods, where you will learn how to make takoyaki and okonomiyaki from scratch. All recipes are easy to recreate at home, and English recipe sheets will be provided after the class. Along with the meal, enjoy Japanese sake and highballs, just as locals often do when gathering with friends and family. While cooking and dining together, learn about Japanese culture, daily life, local customs, food traditions, and life in Osaka. The small group setting makes it easy to enjoy natural conversations and meaningful cultural exchange that is often difficult to find in larger group activities. Your host was born and raised in Osaka and is also a certified Japanese language teacher, making this a great opportunity to gain deeper insight into Japanese culture and everyday life.
